Just got the notification that the girl I reported to DA for taking someone else's photo, slapping a happy face on it, and attempting to sell it, had the deviation deleted.

When do you suppose she'll post with a whiny screed about "haters" or some such?

(My only regret is that her other photos are so generic it's hard to search and see if she's stolen them, also.)

ETA: Actually, she's now claiming she deleted it. Guess that auto-generated deletion report was lying, huh? XD

Well, it is important to save face... nobody really wants to go public with "yeah, I'm an idiot and had all my pics taken away". You want some shred of ego left at the end of the day. And, hopefully, she learned something too.

Hm. I don't think I've thought of it from that angle before. I guess I've been hyper-aware of copyrights and very wary of infringing on those rights, so I couldn't imagine thinking it would be ok to just alter someone else's work and call it mine in the first place.

If this person is young, the misunderstanding or ignorance of the issue would be a bit more understandable. And it does seem that this might be the case.
