Head still hurts. At work. For now. Aaargh.

Can't take another Relpax until 2 PM, due to vasoconstricting side effects. Won't take Advil, as I took lots of Advil last week to head off migraines (it worked!), and the last thing I want to do is get dependent on them, as that's one of the routes thats known to lead to chronic migraine.

I had to go to a meeting today held in a very cold room, which had the effect of making the headache throb every time I breathed the cold air in. Aargh! I'm sure people thought I was insane for holding my jacket lapel over my nose to breathe through.

Could you take other pain killers instead? One of the things I do for my arthritis (if my celebrex isn't working well) is alternate Ibprofin with tylenol every few hours. Part of that is so I don't OD on either med since I take 1000mg at a time, the other part is so I don't develop a resistance to them and have to increase effective dosage, so I'm not sure if it would help with avoiding becoming dependent on them.

I may have to try that. I can't take naproxen because my feet swell up, but others are fine.

After the new year I'm going to talk to my doctor (since I moved, I'm going to change to one closer to my new place, and that will have to be after Jan 1st for insurance) about maybe trying some prophylactic treatment like Topamax, since I'm finally getting more that I can't pin down to hormones or weather changes.

The dosage alternating is every 4 hours. I also did this when I had a bad case of the flu. Doc had me alternate the 2 (normal dosage for this) every 4 hours. Also, on the tylenol, give the arthritis stuff a try. It'll be in a blue and yellow bottle and is available as store generic. I've found if I take it as the second dosage after the advil, I can take a normal dose of the tylenol and it'll last most of the day without having to taking a 3rd dose of pain meds.

OK, I'll give it a try. I also want to give Excedrin a try, as it comes with caffeine, which I know can help.

The other thing I have to go to the doctor about is a weird thing going on with my foot that might be arthritis, might be a bone spur, which my mother has internet-dignosed as winkle-picker's disease. XD I'm holding off until the new year on that one, too, unless it gets worse. Something arthritis-aimed might help that, too, if it's that.
