Next Yuuko box item

Nothing especially fancy. :D

I found this set of puffy stickers on the $1 clearance shelves at Michael's (craft store). As the butterfly is Yuuko's symbol, it seemed appropriate.

It gave me a chance to use another box template from the site I mentioned in the previous post, this one approximately CD-sized, with four flaps.

I couldn't figure out how to make the flaps close in an attractive manner. Origami to the rescue! A folded swallowtail butterfly will hide any multitude of sins.

The card stock I used for the boxes is from the scrapbooking aisles, which are currently filled with all sorts of nifty paper and doodads you can use for things other than scrapbooking, if that's not your thing. As it's not my thing, I tend to wander the aisles trying to think of things I could do with all the paper and nifty doodads. This particular card stock is made with Asian pattern elements, which again seemed vaguely appropriate - some, which you'll see later, even has butterflies on it. (I do tend to wonder what the characters say. I may be gravely insulting my recipient without realizing it!)

I had an urge to keep them, but couldn't work out what I'd do with them, so into the box they went. :)

I originally intended to use them to decorate stuff that went into the box, but never came up with any decent way to do that. XD

hahah!

you're totally right about all the scrapbooking paper. my mom buys them and uses them as backgrounds on her bulletin boards at work. i buy 'em and usually incorporate 'em into bookbinding projects i'm working on...or the neatest thing, used them to wallpaper my dollhouse!

Oooh, the wallpaper thing sounds neat! :D

yeah! i found some really nice thin-stipped paper and i was like "pin-stripe bedroom, yes!'

my goal is to find a neat one for the kitchen next. some of them also look nice as a flooring, which is cool.

sigh, i need to work on my dollhouse!
