Oh the perils of the modern age...

This is an example of the sort of thing that happens when you cross time zones going backwards and fail to convert the times into GMT when sorting. :D
 	 Track your package
Date Time Location Event Details
2008/9/30 --- FORT WORTH TX US Delivery attempted
2008/9/30 --- FORT WORTH TX US Delivered

2008/9/29 --- ANCHORAGE AK US Departure Scan

(Yeah, amazon.co.jp - you pay through the nose for shipping, but it ships OVERNIGHT FROM JAPAN.)

A book on kanzashi with lots and lots of pictures of making them. :D

I justified the expense by all the THEORETICAL POTENTIAL SALES I can make at cons and/or on Livejournal Etsy. (*fingers crossed*)

I hope there are ninja kanzashi to be made! From the bones of your enemies, of course.

I should lure you to Atlanta by exaggerating the size of the Crafts section at Books Japan. (They totally had knitting patterns!)

See, I'd rather wait than pay a small fortune in overnight shipping -- I shudder to think what it cost you.

There are books for which there is no wait, because there is no translation. And the hassle and time involved in finding s person or service willing to purchase it for me and send it to me is worth (to me) almost exactly what the shipping cost to get it to me much faster.

I *did* consider alternatives. :)

See, by "wait..."

I meant get a slower shipping speed, not "wait for a translation." Do they only offer overnight shipping?

The reason that meaning didn't occur to me is that you only have one option for shipping from amazon.co.jp, which is Sooper-Speed. Unless you get someone in Japan - and there's lots of companies that will do this - to have it sent to them, and they'll send it to you via slow boat if you want.

It's better than it used to be. You used to have to pay the same amount and it took two weeks to get to you. Now it takes 48 hours or so. :)
