YOU HAVE ALL FAILED ME

WHY DID I HAVE TO READ THE NOTES IN THE BACK OF KUROSAGI CORPSE DELIVERY SERVICE 7 TO LEARN OF THE EXISTENCE OF AN AGATHA CHRISTIE MISS MARPLE AND HERCULE POIROT ANIME?

It also includes a duck. Oh, Japan. Never change.

Would it redeem us any if I mentioned the Holmes/Watson yaoi manga (http://www.aestheticism.com/visitors/manga/seikitan/index.htm) here?

(Yes, Watson as seme. And it's pretty darn good. [livejournal.com profile] thepinkpanzer is scanlating it.)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 12:30 am (UTC)(link)
Of course there's a Holmes/Watson yaoi manga in existence.

[identity profile] meganbmoore.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
OMG THERE IS WHAT PLEASE TELL ME IT IS LICENSED OR SUBBED OR BASED ON A SCANSLATED OR LICENSED MANGA!!!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 12:44 am (UTC)(link)

[identity profile] keelieinblack.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 01:14 am (UTC)(link)
Froth-Bite (http://www.froth-bite.com/index.php) was subbing the anime, though I'm not sure how many seeders their torrents might have at this point, since some of the episode releases were quite a while back.

If you get a copy, please let me know. The Czarina would set a bus full of crippled nuns afire for this.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 12:54 am (UTC)(link)
If I get a copy of it, I will be dancing and proclaiming it from the mountaintop, never fear!

Oh, so many questions...Is that Tommy and Tuppence in the background?
Why is the duck wearing a kerchief? Are you sure it's a duck?

[identity profile] movingfinger.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 01:27 am (UTC)(link)
...and why a no chicken?

I want to see this. I want very much to see this.

Everything that is at once right and wrong with Wikipedia is summarized in the fact that there is a Wikipedia page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agatha_Christie's_Great_Detectives_Poirot_and_Marple).

I've seen it up to episode 7 (right in the middle of their adaptation of the ABC murderer, I believe)! It's cute.

[identity profile] wistfulmemory.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 05:37 am (UTC)(link)
That just made my day. I now want to watch this.

[identity profile] youshou.livejournal.com 2008-09-11 08:48 am (UTC)(link)
Psst. Contact me offlist. I can arrange to get the series to you.

I also know where to get other Western novel-based anime, if any of these strike your fancy: Hans Christian Anderson's The Snow Queen (incomplete -- translated to 16 and missing a couple of episodes); Paul-Jacques Bonzon's Les Orphelins de Simitra (The Orphans of Simitra) ("Porfy no Nagai Tabi", untranslated); Victor Hugo's Les Miserables ("Les Miserables - La Petite Cossette", mostly untranslated).

FUNimation will also be releasing Romeo x Juliet next spring, though resemblance to Romeo and Juliet is a bit exaggerated.

Once again, Carl Gustav Horn has shown us the way.
