Memo to: Cat

I know that you do not often see me do exercise videos because I am TEH_LAZEE, but really, both of us will be much happier once you learn that perhaps you should not choose to lie down directly behind me if I am standing up in the middle of the room doing weird things.

Also, please to not walk directly in front of me when I am carring many heavy grocery bags. This is, truly, for the greater good.

With luck the new meds will allow me to do a 20-minute exercise video without having my back screaming in pain for the next 24 hours. I am in the absolute worst shape of my life because of this stupid back thing and I am SICK and TIRED of getting winded climbing one flight of stairs because of it.

One of my cats is always underfoot, and then gets all pissed when someone steps on his tail . . .

The other has a thing for people's hair if they're lying down or doing stuff like yoga.

I love cats.

I hear you. I don't know if I'm in the worst shape of my life, but one year ago I was in the best shape of my life, and now I feel like Howl's Moving Castle Sophie right after she got transformed into an old lady.

I'm not sure I've ever had a best shape of my life. When I was taking karate, I had a bit of strength and cardio fitness, but not as much as I ought to, for two reasons: I had no time so I couldn't cook, so I ended up eating lots more fast food than normal, and then the workout was too hard for me - I was exhausted and near to passing out every time (as well as being diagnosed with possible exercise-induced asthma due to allergies), and I think I never really got any recovery time. Depending on my back, my finances, and my time, I might sign up for one of the yoga or tai chi classes up at school this fall for some low-impact exercise.
