Yeah, dealing with all the students going "I can't access [whatever]! Help!" has been fun.

I can't quite understand the number of people who say "When will it be back up?" after you tell them it's down. And you reply "We don't know. They're working on it," and they say AGAIN "But when will it be back up?" *headdesk*

Yeah, my mom works in the registrar and I spent like 30 min waiting for her to get off for lunch and in that time she got SO many calls about why nothing worked -o-
You totally need some deserts!

Yessss, I do! :D

I have to fight the urge to tell everyone "It's your first day on campus! Go out and make some friends!"

Heee. :D

Rush starts today as well, so hopefully at least part of campus won't be bothered by the net access. It's come back, otherwise I wouldn't be talking to you, but I figure if everyone jumps back on to set up wireless and register for classes, it could easily go back down. XD

I will cross myself for you!

We stopped getting crippled by these events a few years ago when we put handy dandy "netsquid" boxes around campus. Now, if someone's doing something dumb and taxing the network (viruses, spam sending and the like) they're auto-shut off before they can do any real harm.

In all seriousness, the last couple years for us have been really smooth and painless during move in (comparatively).
