...it's my scheduled OH GOD HELP ME post, as I'm trying to generate art for Anime Weekend Atlanta's art show. But it has to be non fanart. It can be fantasy, anime, steampunk, the Weird Wild West, goth, anything that would in the least bit fit into a con art show. So ... ideas?

I don't know, "sky pirates" is always my answer to everything.

I'd kind of like to see a steampunk "pinup" adventuress- properly Victorian/Edwardian dressed with the long skirts and all, but maybe perched on the rail of an airship or submarine with the wind picking up her skirt and whipping at her fancy hairdo, something like that.

An ordinary person either encountering or just about to walk into something surreal. Like a bored shopper picking up a tomato without looking, so she doesn't see the hand reaching out of the pile to grab it back. Or a toddler admiring a fantastical weed growing in the sidewalk cracks. A busy street with so many signs and lights and billboards that nobody's noticed the side street where the signs are in alien lettering. < /random ideas>

A Victorian-gothic catgirl and -boy... by which I mean actual feline humanoids, rather than just humans with ears and tails. Go as close to or as far from furry as you feel like, and coat-pattern matters not (though for your sanity they probably shouldn't be black).

Space pirate types with retro 1950s-ish guns and classic cavalier-pirate outfits in weird materials (like metallic or plastic-y) ... and I have a fixed idea that one of them should be a really tough African-looking woman 'cause having notging but white people in fantasy is getting boring. They're striking a heroic pose ... maybe they have some really oddball treasure (analog phones? leather-bound books?) in a space-age-looking crate at their feet.

Little old lady in tweeds walking a wee dragon or other beastie, and a normal dog look intimidated.

Teen girl looking at a rock fanzine or People while some succubus-looking type is peering at the pics over her shoulder through the window.

Cowgirl type on a unicorn ... a tough-looking Appaloosa or pinto unicorn.
