I think the steampunk story generator is producing more stories I want to read than any previous version.

The story begins with shifting identities, and ends with a conspiracy. It features a tomboy and a gunsmith, but the overall narrative is about the weight of personal history.

Your story is a romance between a daring engineer and an anarchist. The lovers experience airship pirates and angst while in a historical setting.

It starts in an empty public place at night, with a laboratory assistant. The antagonist is a prince and motivated because they're looking for an honorable way to commit suicide, and the plot involves elements like silk sheets and unresolved sexual tension building slowly over time.

It begins with a soldier in the Khyber Pass. This person meets a boy who cries and together they encounter watching someone sleep and a character backed into a corner. The story winds up in a caravanserai and features inequities in beauty, rank, or class. The overall narrative contains the non-human as genuinely strange and incomprehensible.

"So a tough woman in a dangerous situation and an irritable mastermind walk into a bar..."

The plot starts because of a misunderstanding about a train robbery. The protagonist, a mad scientist who has a school uniform, ends up in a royal court with a woman that everyone is scared of.

A team of explorers consisting of a deceptively skinny man, a man disguised as a courtesan, a clever street urchin, a martyr, and a highwayman discover an artifact from a war. Complications ensue involving a hug, a near-death experience, and Dr. Draper Stone's Steam Gun.

It starts in Mount Kilimanjaro, with an erudite criminal. The antagonist is a superhuman and motivated to avoid the pain they feel inside, and the plot involves elements like searching through the ages and unintentional transformation.

The narrative has a sense of the numinous. Romance blossoms between a charming sidekick and an officer in Her Majesty's armed service, while difficulties they encounter include an airlock and a moment evoking nostalgia.

The story concerns the edge of insanity. Romance blossoms between a villain with principles and a recovering junkie, while difficulties they encounter include a death ray and danger and rescue and someone who is motivated because they've always wanted to be a hero.

The protagonist of this story is a royal bastard who has a wedding ring. On the way to the story's conclusion the protagonist encounters a don. This person has an unnatural hair color. Plot elements include violence and adrenaline and crises, and at least one character is motivated because kicking ass is fun.

I'll eventually get tired of this generator, but not yet.

It's certainly given me more actual story inspiration than any of the prior ones. Of course, that might just because steampunk pushes my personal buttons.

I'm particularly charmed by this one:

Your story begins with an alchemical student in an ivy-covered wishing well. The villain is a flapper who also has a flying apparatus hidden in a crinoline frame. Plot elements include rescuing someone from servitude and chamber music.

The story narrates a journey between a gondola and a glass-blowing workshop, during which a quietly competent man and a character who is a prize or spoils of war encounter someone who fights to save the person beside them with elegance, as well as hookahs and the twitch of an eye.

I wanna know how that prize person uses hookahs to save the person beside them!

And all in the twitch of an eye, too!

The well-dressed story:

The hero of this story is a broad man who has spats. On the way to the story's conclusion the hero encounters a sympathetic villain. This person has a tailcoat. Plot elements include silk sheets and an intense friendship with physical closeness but no actual sex.

If I have time today, I'll go through a few books and ~~steal~~ research some more steam-and-gaslamp words.

Pulpy!

A team of adventurers consisting of a tall man in a dark suit, a person who lives on the edge of society, a retired superhero, a woman who is sexual with no care of what others say, and an expat discover pulpy, no-holds-barred high-stakes adventure with improbable pulpy weapons and much plottiness and a gentle response at an unexpected moment in a travelling circus.

I think that one needs a giant squid.

My problem is that I have too many little three-sentence story ideas that I've come up with on my own without a generator, and don't have the writing capability to flesh them out into actual stories. ;-P

The story narrates a journey between a room full of abandoned inventions and an opium den, during which a tormented but brilliant strategist and an organ-grinder encounter an anti-hero with stubble, as well as a bet and a pneumatic messaging system.

Your narrative is about discovery of one's self. It begins in gas-lit streets. There is the Giant White Rat of Sumatra and an efficient assistant who meets a gemstone-cutter. It inevitably ends with absinthe.

I've been playing with the generator off and on at work to cheer myself up. :) Here's a possible hiccup in the phrasing / syntactic matchup algorithm (two verbs?): "The plot begins with features funny banter in a secret room."

Today's favorite: This story is about what happens when a psychopath, who is motivated because of megalomania, but on a very small scale, and a trusty assistant, who is motivated because otherwise, the terrorists win, meet in a castle. A key element of the conflict is crickets chirping at night.
