Apologies to those of you not on my friendslist!

Because of being hammered by spambots on older posts, I've enabled the (new to me on LJ!) CAPTCHA for comments posted by people not on the f-list. It'll make life a little harder for you, but hopefully I won't get into an argument with a spambot like I did before I realized it was a bot spamming with keyword-targeted snippets of other people's posts and comments from elsewhere on the Web. (Does that mean it passed the Turing test?)

I hate those squiggly letter things, but I hate spambots more. I'll put up with the CAPTCHA to be able to talk to you. :)

Yaay!

Hell, I'd just friend everyone back if it weren't that there's SO MANY to deal with and read. XD I already feel guilty for not doing so, because, dammit, cool and interesting people keep friending me! XD Ah well.

No, no--it makes perfect sense not to friend everyone back. I read you, [livejournal.com profile] yhlee, [livejournal.com profile] oyceter, [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija, and a few others via RSS feed aggregator because I can't stand LJ's filters and find that feed aggregators level out the posting frequency better. :)

Teehee. It's ok. I don't have time to read everything on my friends page and my list is way smaller than yours. I use the filters, but I still can't get LJ to let me set the default for the filter I want to read most often. RSS feeds are nice, but I don't have enough room on my main My Yahoo page for everybody. ^_^

You... had... an argument with a spambot?

>.>

can I read this?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-07-17 01:41 pm (UTC)(link)
The argument itself has been deleted, because the LJ names were leading back to a journal full of spam links, but I have a summation of it in the first comment on [livejournal.com profile] coffeeandink's post here (http://coffeeandink.livejournal.com/841497.html).

Some of my spambots do so well on the Turing test? That they mess up the curve, causing subsequent human beings to fail.

(I would also like to see the argument with the spambot.)

Oh man, totally seconding the above - your description has piqued my curiosity.
