OK, I have Ulterior Motives for posting this, because I need this info from a/some particular person/people, but can't ask directly in any particular way without tipping my hand that something's up. So I post in general, and hope that whoever it is that I need the info from happens to fill out the poll. :D

And, at any rate, it might supply interesting discussion fodder. :D So here goes!

Yes. The judges shall be Fakir, Ahiru, Pike, Lilie(sp?) and Mr. Neko. Approval shall be judged by how much Fakir scowls, how much Ahiru's eyes sparkle, how much Pike and Lilie squee over cuteness, and how often they make Mr. Neko forget to threaten marriage!

I dug out my own copy, and I'm tempted to try to photograph it or possibly scan it if it won't damage it, so I can share it. I don't like other translations/versions of the story as much, and I love the illustrations.

There's a lot of detail in the one above that you can't see well at that resolution, all kinds of interesting little things going on -- like on the far right, one of the cats in the box seats has lowered a fish hook on a string to catch the hat of the cat below!
