Oh, by the way...

...back right after A-Kon when I posted the lost prop poster for the Sanzo who left the prop at my table? And I said "Please distribute"? I was actually sort of hoping that some of you would distribute it. Extensive as my f-list is, I know there's not much of a chance that you guys know everyone in con-attending fandom, but there's a bit larger chance that you know people who know people. If you get my meaning. :) I'd really like to get this prop back to the person who owns it, and there's not a whole lot more that I can, or have the time and energy to, do.

Thanks!

Maybe you'd have gotten better results if you threatened to shoot people.

Now there's a thought...

(I'm posting to [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki right now, and after that, I think there's nothing else I can do. :D)

As a side note, could you possibly contact the person who headed up the Cosplay, because if this cosplayer participated in an event, they might have an email for them. Sadly, all you could ask this Cosplay head would be "Can you email or contact the various Sanzo cosplayers to see if someone is missing a prop?" You never know though...

From what I could tell, she only did Sanzo on Friday, and I'm not sure they keep that good of records post-con.

I've posted to [livejournal.com profile] saiyuki, which I think poses the best chance of tracking her down.

Even if the con doesn't have her in their records there's a chance the cosplayer emailed THEM to see if anyone turned in the prop to con staff, so it might be worth doing anyway.

(Let's put it this way: because of knowing a lot of staffers I am in a position to know just exactly how uncoordinated this convention is behind the scenes, and in my estimation I'm a lot more likely to save time and my sanity by NOT contacting them and instead posting stuff online.)

Fair enough.

I've staffed Anime Boston for several years, mostly doing cosplay events; I know the cosplay staff; we're all organized and are getting more organized every year. We email with the cosplayers in the events. We know who they are. Events start ON TIME at Anime Boston. I don't go to many other anime cons, but apparently this is extremely rare. In conclusion, we rock if you ever find someone's prop at AB, if the cosplayer applied to one of the cosplay events, with the possible exception of the Masq, because that doesn't require pictures, we know who they are. I guess it's nice to know how good our staff is, but it's also kind of sad to know that other cons don't do so well.

There are bits and pieces that are run well, but overall there's some serious structural issues, enough that I want to stay far away. :D

Sadly, I didn't even notice the 'please distribute.'
