Yes, I know the ill-advisedness of coming up with this idea during a time when I'm not likely to unearth most of my art supplies for a week or so, but...
I just came across this blog, which is a group of artists who choose a theme, subject, or concept each week and post a picture they've created according to the theme, i.e. this week is "blue and yellow color scheme." Anyone interested in doing something similar on LJ? I think there'd properly be a few basic rules/guidelines, perhaps, to make it a smooth-sailing place:
1. Any level of skill welcome, from stick-figures on up.
2. Any sort of visual art welcome - oekaki, traditional art, photography, fanart, original work.
3. To keep the shy from being intimidated, crit welcome only if the artist asks for it.
4. Creative interpretations of the theme welcome
(ETA: And maybe a couple more: 5. Unfinished work is OK.
6. Work posted elsewhere, or links to same OK.)
I suspect that the life-cycle of this would be about a month, then interest would drop off and pictures would stop being posted, but hey: worth a try. :)

Sure, I'd be interested. Even at my busiest I can probably toss off a tegaki-e or oekaki at lunch hour!

You've got my attention. xD; I think I'd like to give it a try and start working on some form of drawing skills.
