(no subject)

Yes, I know the ill-advisedness of coming up with this idea during a time when I'm not likely to unearth most of my art supplies for a week or so, but...

I just came across this blog, which is a group of artists who choose a theme, subject, or concept each week and post a picture they've created according to the theme, i.e. this week is "blue and yellow color scheme." Anyone interested in doing something similar on LJ? I think there'd properly be a few basic rules/guidelines, perhaps, to make it a smooth-sailing place:

1. Any level of skill welcome, from stick-figures on up.
2. Any sort of visual art welcome - oekaki, traditional art, photography, fanart, original work.
3. To keep the shy from being intimidated, crit welcome only if the artist asks for it.
4. Creative interpretations of the theme welcome

(ETA: And maybe a couple more: 5. Unfinished work is OK.
6. Work posted elsewhere, or links to same OK.)

I suspect that the life-cycle of this would be about a month, then interest would drop off and pictures would stop being posted, but hey: worth a try. :)

LOL!
Sure, I'd be interested. Even at my busiest I can probably toss off a tegaki-e or oekaki at lunch hour!

Yay! :D I figure that I'll have a lot of "OMG the deadline's in 20 minutes!" *run to oekaki board* happening, but just the act of forcing myself to do art regularly should help. XD

You've got my attention. xD; I think I'd like to give it a try and start working on some form of drawing skills.

I'd actually be interested, even though my skill level is probably somewhere close to stick figures.

That sounds like fun!

I'm interested, but need to clean my desk area and set up my wacom. This would be a good excuse to "force" me to do it, well, it and the lovely 29 gallon fish tank I've set up next to my desk area.

I'd give it a go. Sounds fun.

Sure, I'll try it out.

I'm in!

I'd try it, though admittedly I'm terrible at keeping up with communities. :( I'd try though!!

Ooh ooh pick me I wanna try.

I'd be interested; it'd be good motivation to actually draw. :-D

That site has some really interesting stuff on it! I wouldn't contribute, but I'd be keen to be able to see the results of that sort of project here on LJ, especially with a wider range of artists and influences.

Sure. I'm awful at keeping up with these things, but I'm interested. I get bored of trying to get my own things out of my head all the time, so maybe it'll be nice to do something with set themes for a change. :)

Sounds like a good way to delve into my box of odds and ends of material. Count me in.

I'm game. I'm a slow artist though. But what the heck! I'll just claim the title of Unfinished Work Wizard.
