Yet more A-Kon pics!

(And, as always, read the comments for identifications, quips, corrections, etc.)

A Fullmetal Alchemist group.

L! Captured with a rather odd expression. XD

Yamamoto-soutaichu from Bleach!

Near, with finger puppets, and Mello, with attitude.

Drunken Master Rock Lee!

The Blue Spirit from Avatar! (I love you, Zuko, you emo dork, you! He reminds me of one of the supporting characters from Sorcerous Stabber Orphen, who has a Seekrit Life as a costumed superhero who rides a bull. Only nobody can take him seriously, no matter how much he sputters that he's really cool, and everyone calls him Shrimp-Man, for reasons I've forgotten.)

[livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija and Sanzo reading The Men Who Stare at Goats.

The wild [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore in her native habitat.

Sanzo is a cranky Sanzo. And overexposed to boot.

Not sure what they are, but hey!

Sanzo! With extra reason to be cranky, as he's being cuddled by Lirin! (a.k.a. [livejournal.com profile] renegadekitsune!)

Kyou Kara Maoh group!

Sasuke! And I'm sure if I went back to the original photo and carefully manipulated it so the lighting was better instead of relying on the batch processing, I'd have some idea what was on Sasuke's head!

This may have been the L walking around talking on the phone in character.

Dark Sora!

Urahara!

Shiny Tsunade!

[livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija liked the mask and called her over to take her photo. :D

Another Rock Lee!

There's still more to go! Next time: L feeding frenzy!

The unidentified pair in black almost look like they might be Rosiel and the Mad Hatter from Angel Sanctuary. :-D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 08:25 pm (UTC)(link)
It's always hard to tell if they're from something I haven't seen/read/played, from a J-rock group, or original. XD

[identity profile] rachelmanija.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 08:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Yep, that's them. At least, it's definitely the Mad Hatter.

Drunken boxing Rock Lee is truly excellent. Look at that back-bend!

The thing on Sasuke's head is a a pair of neko ears. They are more special than yours.

That's who I thought, too.

Hey wait! That's me. I knew I knew that person, lol. And the Blue Spirit. We hung out and talked for a while...

YOU MAD SANZO-SQUISHER!

[identity profile] keelieinblack.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
I find it hilariously appropriate that the Sasuke cosplayer ended up with red-eye.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 08:38 pm (UTC)(link)
VERY SPECIAL red-eye!

[identity profile] ebony14.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
I'd be cranky too, if you zipped me up to my neck in a backpack.

Re: Orphen - Shrimp Man insists his name is Black Tiger. ^_~

Heeee! XD

[identity profile] advance.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 09:40 pm (UTC)(link)
The unidentified pair are Mad Hatter/Beliel and Rosiel from Angel Sanctuary. Mad Hatter is easy to tell and Rosiel is via the costume and the face tattoo. The reason it's hard to tell is probably because the jacket for the Rosiel isn't really correct but it's the idea that counts, yeah?

Sorry was pointed over here from [livejournal.com profile] meganbmoore

[identity profile] advance.livejournal.com 2008-06-09 09:42 pm (UTC)(link)
Wish I had edit haha and I think what's on the Sasuke's head is a neko-ninja headband thinger.... or that's what it looks like to me.

[identity profile] cyancat.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 03:02 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, they are right, it is he Mad Hatter from Angel Sanctuary. I know since I had to paint that pattern on my friends face and just staring at that book for so long.

Love the Lirin. Not many people try to do her as costume for her can be tricky.

And overexposed to boot.

I read this and thought, "What boot? There are boots in that bag? Were they radioactive??"

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 05:52 pm (UTC)(link)
:D

(Huh. Is "to boot" that much of an Americanism?)

[identity profile] m00nface.livejournal.com 2008-06-10 06:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Not at all, I just failed at reading it! (^_^;) What are the origins of 'to boot' anyway? You've got me curious now!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2008-06-11 01:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Cut-and-paste from the online OED FTW!
[Com. Teut.: OE. bót fem., corresponds to OFris. bôte, OS. bôta (MDu. and Du. boete, LG. bote), OHG. buo{hgz}a (MHG. buo{hgz}e, mod.G. busze), ON. bót (Sw. bot, Da. bod), Goth. bôta ‘boot, advantage, good’:{em}OTeut. *bôtâ- (Aryan type *bh{amac}d{amac}-), prob. a derivative of root bat- (Aryan *bhad-) ‘good, useful’: see BETTER. Quite an ancient word! There's about six million other uses of the word and phrase as well, it seems. XD
