While in DC...
Have discovered there actually *is* wireless available at the hotel from my room: yay. But am too tired to read LJ or do much of anything. But before I get into bed and read Mary Roach's Bonk until I fall asleep*, I just wanted to post what I'm planning on doing Wednesday, when there are very few sessions at the conference I want to attend. If there's anyone in the area wanting to join me, you're welcome. Post ehre & we'll figure out where to meet. :)
Fifty-Three Stations of the Yokaido Road: A Haunted Journey Down a Classic Ukiyo-e Featuring GeGeGe no Kitaro - I am ABSOLUTELY doing this. Once I figure out how to get there via the Metro. Probably as close to when it opens as I can.
Patterned Feathers, Piercing Eyes: Edo Masters From the Price Collection - I might do this. Admittedly, mostly in case there's cool stuff in the gift shop. I HAVE MY PRIORITIES.
Not sure where else. Maybe Chinatown. Maybe the zoo. Maybe go look at cherry blossoms.
* I might last five pages. Might.

I don't know if Chomiji has a car or not, but I'll be driving over to where you are if that makes a difference in potential planning.

I think Farragut West is about a block closer to the embassy plus it's on the blue line, so you won't have to transfer. If you do Farragut North, you'll have to go all the way to Metro Center to get on the red line, and then backtrack.
The Sackler Gallery's gift shop is small and ridiculously expensive, but they do occasionally have neat stuff marked down. The Sackler Gallery is still worth it though, if only to see the Peacock Room.
