Interesting anonymouse...

I seem to have been hit twice by an anonymouse this morning, who is, apparently, unaware that their IP address resolves to a school in Indianapolis and that I have the exact time they posted, which means if they come back and get abusive, instead of (a) contradictory and (b) squeeful over a blue-footed booby icon, I can contact the IT department in the school district, who will know which computer and exactly which time, and therefore the exact person who did it. :)

I say, that would be even more fun than booby-trapping hotlinkers with Kenpachi-chan! No call to do it yet, though.

*rolls eyes* Those comments are so pathetic that they're funny.

It's because of the potential for abuse (also because I do things elsewhere that could tempt people to be abusive, and a few of those people know I post here), that I have comments by non-LJ-users turned off and comments by people who aren't on my friends list screened.

I have had remarkably good luck that way. I'm contemplating turning anon comments off just because I'm getting increasing numbers of spam comments that I'm tired of deleting, and between that and being annoyed at people who post anonymously and don't leave names/handles so I can distinguish them from all the other anonymice around, it may soon be time to turn it off.

Yeah, I have the multiple anonymous commenters problem too -- I have to keep reiterating that I have no way of carrying on a deep and meaningful conversation with what amounts to a roomful of people with disguised voices, in a blackout, who keep switching seats. :P

And I really don't like being dependent on them remembering to come back and check the page to carry on a conversation. If I invest a lot of time in a thoughtful, reasoned, response, who's to say it's not wasted if they never reply? At least with an OpenID or an LJ, I have some recourse to tracking them down and nudging them for a reply.

Oh yeah - update on the print situation, which I have been feeling exceptionally guilty about: I have learned that I can't find the original file, which is mysteriously missing from my computer. I'm 99% sure it's backed up on a disk somewhere and just takes me looking for it and finding it - I did a backup a few weeks ago and deleted backed-up files that weren't being used. *headdesk* I'm planing on tearing my computer area apart this weekend looking for disks, and on checking the big backup drive I bought and used. HOPEFULLY it's backed up. pleasepleasepleasepleaseplease
