I think, uh, there are some other people in it, too? I wasn't really paying attention. Except for the bad guy (Jade Warlord?), who's kinda pretty-hot in a Max-von-Sydow-as-Ming-the-Merciless who-knew-they-had-eyeshadow-in-Ancient-China kind of way.
I'll have to see it and see how the setup goes before being completely twinged on it, but still ... JET LI and JACKIE CHAN. Nobody's going to be looking at the hero dude!
I was shocked to hear about this! It totally rocks to see that Jackie is doing another action movie. I just watched Rush Hour3 yesterday and about cringed the whole way through. How could Jackie and Chris subject themselves to such a horrible script!
Anyway, This movie looks like a different take on the Monkey King tale, but its awesome to know that Hollywood appreciates it. I myself thought that it was about Sanzo and group at first look to the poster, but upon closer inspection, realized the difference. and even the violet haired assassin has sparked my interest!
And on a fun side note, I just changed channels on tv only to find playing on SciFi: The Monkey King. The version starring the guy in Dharma and Greg. Its odd but still good.
