I think my digital camera is dying - it's 4 or 5 years old, after all - but it's taking a loooong time to write the picture to the card, even though the batteries are freshly charged, and I've tried two different sets of freshly charged batteries. *sigh*

Artistic commentary: the lighting goes really well with the "lazy sunday" feel, esp. on the second one. Just wish I could say exactly *why* it does. '^^

Thanks! It's probalby the soft backlit effect - it really looks very close to that in RL and I was trying to capture the sleepy,dreamy effect.

Of curse, all she can see is the back porch, so she's intently watching some drifts of leaves, her old kitty-litter box, and a blank wall, but hey! You can always imagine she's daydreaming about the savannas of Africa or something. XD

The repetitive gradiant pattern on the blinds...adds to a "lazy" feeling...

Well, I could probably make soemthng up about how the blinds block off what she's *actually* seeing, and make us imagine what she's keeping an eye on and dreaming about - ancestral glories in the deserts of Egypt or something (it's really her old kitty-litter box that she's looking at, by the way).

Seems to be used more often in anime-fandom circles, like things like T_T which is supposed to indicate crying or some such. (I think I've got the middle character wrong, but I don't use *quite* that many different smileys.)

They are even more fun when you work with non-English characters and symbols represented in unicode XDD (but alas, ms paint doesn't support foreign language...)

I like the one with the two characters that look like backwards 7s on their side as eyes, so you get someone looking to one side with a flat or annoyed expression on ther face.

but you know...there are these nifty "emoticon buns" you can download that feature emoticons based on just about every language on Earth...(but you have to have your own image hosting...)
