Heh. That's why I'm glad so few people go to my gallery (too lazy to plug it and I tend to lurk around DA than comment), otherwise I might actually have to live up to my promise of free pictures. I've off-handedly mentioned at the end of a journal post I would do one at 5000, but I'm expecting it to be overlooked. :D
After some point - 60K or so - it snowballs, because you've got enough favorites and watchers tht people keep finding your page, I think. I got the first 50K hits by being really active on the site for a couple or three years, then lost interest but the hits kept coming. XD
It comes with the trade, too. XD I envy awesome artists quite a bit, because someone can notice a piece of art, go "Oh, that looks interesting," and look... whereas with writing, especially original, there's a more limited community that tends to rely on word of mouth. Which I understand, though!
The internet is just a fickle beast, I guess! But I am happy that your lovely art has been properly noticed by said beast. (I can't imagine that it wouldn't, but. I have little faith in the 'net masses. XD)
The one that seems to have mostly been noticed is the Mello-freakazoid picture. If you go to Photobucket and do a search for "by_telophase" that seems to be the most-stolen pic. XD
(It only returns the ones that people haven't changed the filename, and that were ripped from DA, though. XD)
