Waaaaah!

I have in my hands an AWESOMETASTIC MANGA OF AWESOMENESS that I cannot tell you anything about. Why? Because I have a second copy I'm sending to [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanija and I think she should experience it untainted by any expectations whatsoever except for AWESOME.

And no: this isn't something I picked up in the bookstore or anything like that. It's in Japanese, and stands absolutely no chance ever of being translated, ever. Which you will all understand when I, (or maybe she), tells you all about it.

Also in my order from yesasia.com, along with the AWESOMETASTIC MANGA OF AWESOMENESS, I got a book of photographs of bento lunches and the Japanese version of the Okami artbook, since the English version keeps getting pushed off farther and farther and farther. It is also awesome, although, I must say, in a completely different way than the AWESOMETASTIC MANGA OF AWESOMENESS.

Is the AWESOMETASTIC MANGA OF AWESOMENESS even better than Hikkatsu! Strike a Blow to Vivify?

Because girl who was raised by pigeons who falls in love with an emotastic boy who lives in a snowy fortress of emo solitude while he practices his appliance-repairing ONE SHOT NO FAIL REPAIR BLOW(it deserves caps) is rather hard to top...

It's hard to say, because the crack is of an entirely different nature. XD

Interesting. Japan, it seems, has limitless varieties of crack.

I mean, it has badass fighters with noodle hair who walk around spontaneously creating clouds of gently falling sakura petals, and sometimes make their swords explode into sakura petals.

Here, have a commemorative icon.

TEASE! Can we guess and receive answers in spoilerfont? Is it something you read in scans or saw in Japan or something else? Is its protagonist bigger than a breadbox? Was sie raised by pigeons*?

*I have an origin story that almost beats "raised by pigeons!", but sadly fails in pigeon ninja skills.

Personally, I'm more fond of the hero's origin story. Just its amazingly emotastic nature.

You may guess all you want, but I will neither confirm nor deny, just giggle madly because I'm fairly sure nobody's going to guess it.

Perhaps, right before the reveal, I shall post a poll containing all the guesses. XD

Interesting! Perhaps it is the one about the bishounen assassin, Jesus, who is a "deadly machine of snipe."

I am fairly sure you are not familiar with this one. And that you will giggle in mad glee while you read through it, after a first moment of "WTF?!"

I will say that the cover accurately describes exactly what the manga contains.

(I have no real comment except that ever since the Young Lady saw your icon there, and insisted on seeing the whole online video, I have had to put up with multiple versions of that song ... over and over again. Until today, when she switched to McCartney and Wings' "Jet," making me seriously regret my mid-1970s fandom of said group ... .)
