Hey, I know the dude who wrote the Ancient South Asian World! He's pretty cool, though I haven't read that book.

Cool!

They both seem like good, simple history books to use as an overview. Most of the books I've got in the library here are, by nature of the academics, pretty heavy going and I feel the need for a good overview in my head before I get into the heavy details.

It's books. How can it be boring?

I am so going to pre-order Sovay right this minute as an extra-extra-early birthday present to myself.

The description I read on bookshelves of doom was just "Highwaymen!" and that's all it took for me. XD

Hmm ... Outlaws & Highwaymen web site (she has the lyrics to a tune I used to play on my recorder, "The Female Frolick," about a young lady turned highwayman).

eee! I used to have a collection of highwaymen books, back when I was in highschool and really obsessed with them. XD

And when I was in college and studied abroad a semester and visited York, I made a point of finding Dick Turpin's grave and standing on it. :D (Gah! I just realized he was hanged when he was five years younger than me!)
