FINALLY human again! And Yuletart!

Last night was hell, as the migraine came back, about an 8 on the Mankoski Pain Scale and centered itself right at the back of my head, and I still couldn't eat anything or keep anything down except for very few sips of water. I managed to keep two Vicoden down, which didn't do a thing for the pain, but put me to sleep, at least. It was still there this morning, when I was finally able to take more Relpax*, which didn't kick in until noon, and the nausea was still present so I phoned the doctor and got them to phone in a prescription for an anti-nausea medication so I could actually eat. So the headache is mostly gone, to be replaced by the YOU HAVE NOT INGESTED ANY FOOD AND VERY LITTLE WATER IN THE PAST 36 HOURS feeling. I've had the medication and a small potato and so far have no nausea. Yay. Still a bit wobbly on my feet, but I'll live, which seemed like touch-and-g this morning. XD

And on th bright side, my [livejournal.com profile] yuletart gift, by Anonymous, was posted today. It's a soft, sweet moment of Sanzo and Goku. Go see it right here! (The artist names will be revealed at the end of the month.) What a nice thing to get after two days of hell! XD

* Vasoconstrictor, so you don't really want to OD on it, as one of the side effects is DEATH FROM HEART ATTACK.

I bet Anti-nausea was phenigrine (however you spell it)?

*looks at bottle* Promethazine. It's a generic, though. And I love my new prescription plan, because this cost me $0. Whee!!!

The cessation of a migraine is one of the best feelings in the world. I'm glad yours has finally left you. :)

I know! The sheer relief and feel-goodness of the absence of pain is indescribable, and I'd never have known how good it feels if I hadn't had migraines. XD

So glad to hear you're feeling better. ^_^

Gah, how awful. I'm glad you're feeling better, and that you've got the weekend to recover.

If you need more mental things for your story, may I suggest migraines? :) Lots of strange, individual quirks and much of the time, you can work through it if you *have* to - note the number of people out there with chronic migraine. I was pretty close to not being able to do anything - if I'd gone to a 9 on the scale, I wouldn't have been able to function at all - but I was able to summon enough speech to explain to the guy who came to plaster the bathroom ceiling that I had a migraine, and I was able to change the kitty little box because the cat was about to go on strike. XD And if it were a 6 or 7, I could function enough that observers wouldn't see much wrong besides a certain slowness, and some things could make me push the pain to the side if need be - someone cutting in front of me when driving, talking to Mom on the phone, etc.

And some migraines mimic stroke - aphasia, paralysis of one side. THat would be damn scary and I'm glad I don't get them.

ETA: A good place to start (http://www.thedailyheadache.com/2008/01/predict-migrain.html) reading about migraine prodrome symptoms, with links to further stuff about migraine.

Glad you're feeling better. And yes, DEATH BY HEART ATTACK is a bad thing. D:
