My dad called me that, from 'Gofer'. (He also occasionally would call me 'Chipmunk Cheeks' from a habit of taking really large bites of food, and stashing it in my cheek as I worked on it. Dad being a wildlife ecologist, he'd then take the opportunity to lecture me on the finer points of chipmunk biology, and so I have zero positive associations with that name. Lovely, huh?) I never really had a nickname that stuck until I started hanging out with the Cepheid Variable SF club at A&M.

XD So what is it about naming conventions that makes the porn star names so correct? Admittedly, lots of people end up with names like "Fido W. 38th St." but there's enough out there that work to make it quite ominous. :D
