Iconage. Probably would have looked better if I hadn't gone "OoooOOOooo CoLoR wOuLd bE nIcE!111!!" and colored it. [edit] Uploaded a B&W version, too. I think I like it better.

New Death Note character, with the unfortunate name of Mello. Two Three versions of the icon, I'll leave it up to you to figure out the difference between the first two. ;) If you are overcome with the unbearable urge to take it, go ahead.

Ooh, that's good idiomatic German. (The kind I could do thirty years ago, but after three decades of never hearing it, only reading it, I am stuck with the stilted version.)

[livejournal.com profile] _ri happens to be a native German and took pity on me, and we worked out exactly the sort of thing I wanted. Wheeee!!

Now if only LJ's servers would update properly so that the one controlling the list of userpics on the update and reply forms would REALIZE that I've got Mello uploaded as one of my userpics, I'd be aaaaall happy. As it is, I shall have to go with my cat.

*Yoinks!* Twitchy eye. That's how I feel today. Need sleep, must not kill, need sleep. Goldfish flying submersibles!

It's how I'm feeling this entire week... and I really don't have chocolate in the house.

The twitching is lovely. x) For some reason I find him so cute.

Thanks! There is just *something* about (fictional) psychos that pulls me in. I'm hoping that once Near acquires a personality, he'll be cool, too. I have hopes for that, though, since Ooba and Obata seem to be masters at characterization.

I love the eyetwitch.

Still can't believe he's a boy.

I know! It wasn't until we saw him with the FAAAAAAAAA-bulous coat off (it just seems to want to be described that way, what with the big fluffy feathery things) and I saw the definition in his arms and collarbones that I decided yes, male.

And I went back and re-read chapter 59 and noticed Mello bouncing a ball off the head of another kid (or whatever it was - I've forgotten the details), which I didn't even notice before, which does fit right in with his personality in ch. 60.

[identity profile] mistressrenet.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 01:44 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, this is starting to sound like fun. XD

I suggest rereading 59 and paying attention to the orphanage scenes - a couple of things read differently to me after reading 60, and if you're paying attention you might catch it without reading 60. :) (Which goes to prove somethign I've asserted before, that even comic artists don't pay much attention so you really have to hit readers over the head with things you want them to notice.)

I've read through 60 twice now, once with the summary and once with the text translation of the dialogue next to it, and the text translation made some things clear that I was wonderng about with the summary. I can't wait for the scanlation now, so I can read it better.

And I am still feelin' the Matsuda puppy-dog love in 60! XD
