My cat likes to sleep on cold, hard surfaces. Give her a choice between a nice, cushy bed and a concrete floor, she'll take the floor. She does, however, like to sleep on the couch next to the big warm lamp, but if there's a way to mitigate the horrors of thw snuggly, soft, warm couch, she will do so:

Volume 5 of Trigun Mximum was her preferred choice of pillows until [livejournal.com profile] rachelmanjia sent this book.

And now a goofy picture:

And an icon I made of it:

And the aftermath of Today's Big Adventure when the fluffy black cat that hangs around the complex jumped onto my back porch, and my cat gave him what for through the sliding glass door. It's a good thing I hadn't opened the door and left the screen there for ehr to look through - there wouldn't have been a screen left. Now she's stalking around all big and fluffy, determined to protect the home front:

Your cat is so cute! Especially like the goofy one... well, and the book pillow one too.

XD You can see a little bit of where her spine fur was all spiky, too, but it's not a good one of how spiky she was.

She's now pacing around from window to window. By, God, if that black cat dares shows it's sassy fat tail around here, there'll be hell to pay! XD

Love the icon! It is such a catlike pose and attitude!

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
Thanks! XD She's actually eating a treat there, and getting more and more pissed off at me for flashing the flashy thing in her face.

XD I haven't taken too much because it would be more-or-less more of the same thing that's been posted previously. And I've been swamped by the doujinshi project, so ... no time. :)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 01:37 pm (UTC)(link)
YES. My apartment is covered in a layer of cat fur right now. Once I get the *time* I shall vacuum like a mad vacuuming fiend, but for now I have to pretend it doesn't exist. All that texture on the sofa? Fur. It's not on *all* the sofa, just right in that spot because that's where she spends most of the evening. Once I go to bed she moves to the office chair, but because I sit there in the evenings, the cat fur comes off on my pants and doens't accumulate like on the sofa. I really need to vacuum it off.

Should I be getting worried? Apparently the cat is picking up Martial Arts Superpowers via sleep-learning. And I can't help wondering if she's doing it for purposes of protection...or CONQUEST.

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 03:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, she wasn't entirely successful in intimidating the black fluffy cat, but OTOH, she was hampered by the presence of a pane of glass between her and it.

The book was published in 1974, so all the photos have people with bad hair. Hopefully she's picking up the martial arts and not the bad hair. She needs to; she really has not much of a sense of balance, for a cat - I've seen her teeter and lose her balance on the edge of the tub, on the toilet, on the windowsill, and so on. My mother laughs at me for keeping the toilet lid closed because of that, but *I* don't want to have seven and a half pounds of sopping wet fury zipping around the apartment when she loses her balance the wrong direction.

Been there, done that, in re the "sopping wet fury zipping around" after the klutzy cat lost a battle against an open toilet lid.

Hysterical, really. But only for the humans....

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2005-04-14 04:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Heehee. My mom's cat has never done that, but she did bring a bird into the house one day and let it go, and Mom couldn't find it until she walked into the bathroom, looked down, and saw one tiny, furious beady-eyeballed, soaking wet bird staring back at her from the toilet. I don't remember how she got it out of there, but I do remember that she told me she just closed the lid at first and walked off to figure out what to do.
