Today so far...
The Ref desk computer is down for the count, and the wireless network is being wonky and dropping connections randomly. SO MUCH FUN.
It didn't occur to me to try plugging the network drop into the laptop, which the librarian I'm tag-teaming at the ref desk today suggested just now, as I gave the desk over to him and went down to my basement office, but I am not optimistic that it'll work, as the network drop is probably on the faculty/staff subnetwork, and the laptops probably belong to the student subnetwork.
Luckily, nobody's panicking about research and papers and finals just yet. They'll probably start that tomorrow, which means it's a totally different librarian who has to deal with it then. :)
