A quick update on the MANGA OF CRACKTASTIC I mentioned in my previous post: IT GETS BETTER. What I mistook for drifting sand was actually drifting snow, because Shota, the hero, lives ALL BY HIMSELF on the TOP OF MOUNT FUJI. And he has spent TEN YEARS attempting to perfect the One Shot No-Fail Repair Blow technique, where by "perfect" I mean "trying to make work at all."

And he has DEEP AND ABIDING TRAUMA because his sensei was KILLED BY A RAMPAGING BACKHOE. I forgot to mention earlier that Shota quit his dojo in shame and disgust at being told not to fight, and threw his black belt down in front of his sensei and HIS SENSEI DIED SAVING THE BLACK BELT FROM THE RAMPAGING BACKHOE.

This manga? This manga is GENIUS. I AM NOT WORTHY.

OK. Now I absolutely must hie myself to the bookstore and look for a copy of this thing. It obviously must have come from the hallowed pages of Shounen Champion, known for its incredibly unusual stories. I wouldn't be surprised if it did.

It's published here by Go!Comi, and first published in Japan by Media Works Inc., but they don't mention which magazine it ran in, more's the pity.

This is, hands down, the most awesome manga I've read this year. XD
