Still not at work - took today off in exchange for working Saturday, and I'm glad I did because I'm still exhausted. Not as much as Saturday and Sunday, at least, but enough so that I'm glad I've got today. :)
Now the question is: what do I do with myself today? I'm in that stage of getting vaguely insane from being cooped up all day, but not really wanting to go out and do much, and I can't do research for the Thing Wot I Am Not Writing because doing any sort of research right now feels way too much like Yuletide, and I'm trying to forget that so as to be fresh for the rewrite.
My mother would tell me to clean, but bleh.

You should pamper yourself.

Heh ... one wonders what the fields for such a database looked like!
(Sounds like time well spent, in any case ... .)
(And the first time I typed that, a comma ended up between the "well" and the "spent," which gave it, well, an interesting twist.)

Ahhh, normalization. You know, I think I recall being told that performance issues are usually such that folks generally back down from the ideal normalization level.
And by odd coincidence, last night, the Mr. and my friend K's husband were having an "I was geeky before it was popular"-type conversation, where the Mr. commented that when I brought home my database clsss exercises in normalization (when I went back to school for the computer degree), he had no idea what I was talking about: he did those things, but his working knowledge of them predated the terminology that's now used.
