Via [livejournal.com profile] yankeerose69:

01). Total volume of music files on my computer?

Probably about 3 gigs at the moment. I had 6 or so before my hard drive died and I ahven't transferred many back yet.

02). The last CD I bought was...

Mediaeval Baebes "The Rose"

03. The last song I listened to before writing this:

Dust Rhinos "Jedi Drinking Test" on a burned CD in the car on the way to work.

4. a) Wake Up:

NPR on the radio. None of the radio stations play music I like to listen to for long, and I hate hate hate listening to commercials, so I listen to whatever the news is.

b) Song Playing Right Now:

None. I'm at work and I don't have the iPod going at the moment. My brain is stuck on the Dust Rhinos' song, though.

05). Five songs I listen to a lot or that mean a lot to me.

This changes on a frequent basis. The songs I currently listen to obsessively are:

1) Dringo Bell - Mediaeval Baebes
2) Dust Rhinos - Jedi Drinking Test
3) Boiled in Lead - Go, Move, Shift
4) Sirius Black - Er, I'm not sure who did it; it's a comedy song that someone on my friendslist posted a while back. It's got me posting a couple of lines over and over to my friend Toby on AIM and annoying the hell out of him. "Professor! Potter won't let me represent for the Dark Side!" "Potter, let Malfoy kick it old school or it's detention!"
5) Doctor Who Theme (techno version) by Orbital

If you think I like funny and unusual songs, you're right.

I haven't heard of a single band that you just named. Probably because of the country difference, just like I wouldn't expect you to know of K-Os. One question though, what genre of music is this!? I tend to listen to old R&B and canadian underground hip-hop :P lol.

The Dust Rhinos are Canadian. :)

Mediaeval Baebes, um ... they do medieval and medieval-sounding songs with updated arrangements, but nothing like modern music. I've seen them categorized in Classical, New Age, Celtic, and World Music, none of which they actually fit. I've got a post a week or so back with a link to a MB song, although it's probably expired by now - if you want me to re-upload it, let me know.

Dust Rhinos - I have no idea. The Jedi Drinking Song is the only one of theirs I've heard, and it's got a country/honky-tonk sound to it. I don't actually listen to country/honky-tonk. Except for this one,'cause it's damn funny.

Boiled in Lead - out of Minneapolis. Fusion. Folk rock - their early years they were more folky, by their last album they were more rock.

Sirius Black is a comedy rap about Harry Potter. No clue who did it.

Orbital - techno.

Any questions? XD

Lol, canadians, don't I feel like an ass! Lol. Nope, no questions.

I didn't know they were Canadian until I looked up the title of the song this morning. :)

Hmm...the Mediaeval Baebes sounds interesting. I should look into them :3

I really like them. A techno-lovin' friend of mine likes them because some techno group he listens to samples them.

I would do this meme but the statute of limitations from the early days of Napster is not up yet. ;)

XD I, er, 'acquired' quite a bit of music myself, although it tended to be odd stuff that I couldn't find anywhere else or wasn't sure I'd like and wanted to try, or stuff that just didn't have CD release.

My CD purchasing has gone down considerably since the freewheeling days of music P2P have passed. Take that, RIAA!
