telophase: (manji - not happy)

urg

I've got a headache in the back left quadrant of my head, and a mosquito bite on my instep, right where my shoe rubs as I'm walking. ARG

And I've already read all of my LJ stuff and I've only been at work for half an hour. ENTERTAIN ME, PEONS!

Ahahahaha. Yeah. I've got only two items on today's to do list--clean my office and edit my fic. I'm now avidly avoiding both. So of course, I am surfing LJ looking for a distraction. I was hoping you'd provide something wonderfully distracting, but alas.

So! Here is a question for you, possibly an entertaining one. I just got forty bucks I can spend on absolutely ANYTHING guilt free. What should I buy?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-05-25 03:09 pm (UTC)(link)
Sorry, no distractions so far. And I'm still stressing what pose to use for nice big pencil pieces of Sephiroth and Vincent Valentine (because I need to produce a couple of big pencil pieces for the art show; at least once I get the poses down, the pencilling takes little time). And I need to mat the Yuuko, so I'm debating taking it in to a craft store and having them custom-cut a mat for it, because lord knows my mat-cutting skills have degraded in the past decade (I'm not even sure where the cutter part of my mat cutter is, anyway, so there may not actually be a choice here).

That's why almost everything I do is in an 8x10" ratio: I can mat it with pre-cut mats. XD Ah - I need to go buy more foamcore and find my boxcutter, now that I come to think of it.

So ... forty bucks. *I'd* spend it on Copic markers, but I'm in a Copic-acquiring mood. XD

[identity profile] vom-marlowe.livejournal.com 2007-05-25 03:26 pm (UTC)(link)
I freaking hate cutting mats. Mats are the devil. Fortunately, my mom is really really good at it, so I make her do it. And I can't find my box cutter either. I think the squirrel mafia must steal them for nefarious purposes.

Yeah....I'd probably buy Copics, except I kinda sorta went wild at the Kinokuniya when I was in SF. Argyle purple is AWESOME. /random artistic pimpage

Although....now you mention it, my collaborator is keen on flowers of doom and I could probably use more soft greens for foliage. And possibly some floral colors, too. Hmmm.

I'm in pose quandary over a sekrit project myself. Once I get the underdrawing done, I know I'll feel better, but until then---emo! You know, it baffles me how hard it is to find copyright free decent couples poses--nothing x-rated, just kissing and such. Weird.

I ended up dropping $10 into an account over at istockphoto.com so in case I found an awesome photo there for posing purposes, I could spend $1 on the smallest, cheapest version and use it without a care in the world. I've only bought 1 pic over there so far, and I don't even remember what it was. XD

I should really go trawl through that for pose ideas right now.

*kicks LJ* At least they've got the Recent Comments page now, so I can see what people are saying on my LJ. XD

Wow, got to use the "hug" icon twice this morning ... if I were there, I'd rub your neck for you, I do that sort of thing. Absent that, try massaging your thumb webs (between thumb and side of palm) ... that sometimes helps. And check out "Afterbite" for your bug bite ... failing that, try putting a drop of household ammonia on it. Sounds revolting, but that's the main ingredient in the Afterbite, and it works.

My cat got chased by a squirrel this morning and then tackled by a dog that weighs approximately 14 times less than him. I thought it was pretty funny....sorry, nothing entertaining going on here either.

Hee. XD My mother's cat, Bane of Bunnies, is routinely terrorized by the next-door neighbor's declawed cat.

ooh, the Hermetic Library and Strange Maps are fascinating!

XDD

LOL. Bane of Bunnies. Hehehe. Mines scared of my Usagi bunny, though. He just kinda stares at her, tail twitching. My cat's declawed, too, but he weighs more than both of our dogs and he still gets abused by them. He has a new plan to get rid of the littlest of them, though. I caught him flipping candy from the basket on top the refrigerator to her the other day. And this morning he tossed a chocolate covered donut from the counter to her, which of course, she promptly ate before I could stop her. I think he's trying hard to poison her.

:-D    I just hope that the maps don't make your head worse ... there's some pretty tiny type there!!
