(no subject)

Went to dinner with a friend today at a place in downtown Fort Worth that serves wine and tapas. We killed a bottle fo wine, well, *I* killed a bottle of wine because we bought it, then myf riend realized halfway through the second glass that she was driving, and stopped, and DEAR GOD I couldn't let that bottle of wine go to waste, now, could I?

And we both discussed the weird fact that we were living the sort of life we'd read about in books growing up: young urban professionals in the big city eating in trendy downtown restaurants and drinking wine (and then going to STARBUCKS afterward, no less!). Damn weird.

And then we went back to her place while I sobered up and she pressed DVDs on me, and I came home. And there was something else I was going to put here but I am totally forgetful because I am still slightly tipsy and my cat is shredding paper and I am now going to stop her by PICKING HER UP and DARING TO SHOW HER AFFECTION which will cause her to run from me in horror.

Affection is a Fate Worse Than Death. *nods* My cat agrees.

There is a Tapas bar in Ft. Worth? Sweet.... must go when I'm solvent.

Some cats hate being picked up and some don't I have the first. Now, if I'm sitting down that is another story.

There are *two*. :) The one we went to, off of Sundance Square, was more of a trendy one, but Christy tells me the other one is supposed to have more of an authentic Spanish flair.

The one we went to had good wine, though. And they price their individual glasses so high ($8-10) that it's cheaper to get a bottle ($16-25) if you're going to have more than one glass, but they'll cork an unfinished one and let you take it home.

Am not ignoring your previous email. Am just forgetful and procrastinating.

My cat is *so* not a lap cat. It's like the entire idea is completely alien to her. She'll ask for lots of petting, but won't go anywhere near your lap. :)
