*rofl*

OK, how coincidental is this? I'm at the ref desk at the moment because the ref staff are in a meeting, and a girl just came up asking where the book Manga! Manga! is. And I could tell her that it's currently in my apartment. XD I'm bringing it back tomorrow because she's just starting to do research on a thesis that has to do with manga's influence in South American countries (er, or something like that - my leaky brain is not retaining details like that right now.)

Tangent

I forget where I saw it (RASFW? RASFF? RASFC? LJ?) but people were swapping stories about the stupidity of professors who assigned reading out of books that were, for example, checked out by *that* professor...since before the student was born!

That's some service! Part of me always wants to demand, "Well, who has is?!" I would be totally satisfied with that scenario (short of actually being able to have the book).

When I was working the desk a few months ago (public library), a small boy came in and asked if we had Naruto #2. At which point my face twisted into a number of manga-character sad expressions and I retrieved it from my basket for him.

(Hello! We don't know each other, but I am also a manga-reading librarian and I like your writing).

Hee! I'd be tempted to challenge him for it.

This is probably why it's a good idea I work in Systems and not Public Services. XD
