Dammit, my BitTorrent has quit working. I usually use Azureus, but ... nada. It can see the seeds and leechers, it claims, but won't download or do anything. Reinstalling it doens't work. Unticking the UPnP (or whatever it is) plugin doesn't work. Checking the configuration says that port 6881 is open. My firewall has an active rule that lets BT stuff get through on the correct ports, and I even experimented with turning off the firewall temporarily - nothing - and turning off the entire Norton virus protection thing temporarily - nothing. Downloading the original BT client - nothing, just hangs up forever on the 'Contacting peers' or whatever it is stage. I've run AdAware and Spybot and cleaned off what little they found Just In Case, and still nothing.

I am at my wits' end and the extent of my knowldge. I run Win2k, in case that helps at all. Anyone out there have a clue as to what to do next?

Your ISP may have blocked it.

Yeah, I'm fearing that's the case and was hoping there was something more I could try, but I'm afraind not. Phooey.

Hm. I wonder if the university where I work will notice me sucking even more bandwidth...?

Mine doesn't. >:)

(Technically, we're not a university, but you get the idea.)

:) I may have to resort to that, then. I haven't been doing much BT anyway, since I got the job, because I dont' have time to watch it all. But it would be nice to be able to suck down episodes of Time Team as they show up online.
