Friends purge!

In the interests of boredom tidying up my friendspage, I jsut went trhough and took some LJs off my friendslist. My criteria was that I didn't remember whoever it was commenting or posting too recently, but I KNOW my memory is faulty (well, there's over 240 journals on that list!), and I probably clicked the wrong little box in a couple of places, so if you were on it and are now suddenly no longer seeing my friends-only entries and want back on, drop a note here and let me know. I didn't drop anyone for being boring or anything like that, just to clear out the LJs that didn't really need to be on the list. :)

OMG it just got dark outside. I think the front just hit. I believe I will leave once I post this.

Yay! I'm still there! xD

Me too. I hate when you do the purges because I'm always afraid I'm a horribly boring person and am going to get dropped. Not that I wouldn't still read, but I'd miss so much of the snark!

Chaos! Mayhem! Oh noes!

...I don't know. It doesn't seem right for there to be a flist purge without drama. XD

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 12:05 am (UTC)(link)
No worries: I don't drop for boring, I drop for non-participation, pretty much. And if someone doesn't want to participate and I drop them, I'm willing to reinstate them if they want. :D

Ah. Obviously an oversight.

XP

:D

Hee. That's why I tend to purge only those who don't seem to be reading. XD Well, that and after I read someone's LJ for a while, I tend to get interested in the ongoing drama that is their life. XD

[identity profile] tokyoghoststory.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 12:08 am (UTC)(link)
liar, you were so tempted to drop me because im so bland!

[identity profile] azure-reverie.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 12:28 am (UTC)(link)
No worries. Hope it's OK if I keep you friended; just don't want you thinking I'm a stalker or something.

[identity profile] kriatyrr.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 12:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha, excellent excuse for deleting people you don't want. Too bad I can't use it, since I don't have that many people friended. :P

Don't mind me, I just like dropping semi-random comments on friendsfriends (/friendsfriends?show=P).

[identity profile] tprjones.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 12:41 am (UTC)(link)
Yay! You really do love me!

I like to check out your friends page. I've found some great manga journals that way. (Deleted and reposted to fix a typo)

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 02:25 am (UTC)(link)
Nah, you care enough to comment here, I care enough to friend you back. XD

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
:D There's a few who haven't posted in their LJs and who haven't been commenting who I assume have managed to get lives away from LJ (such a thing exists?), and then there's those who don't comment or post but who read and this is a great way to flush 'em out so I know who's reading. XD

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Obviously an oversight. ;D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 02:28 am (UTC)(link)
Finefinefine. Restored. :D

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 02:29 am (UTC)(link)
Hee. :D You're back!

Yay! No deletion!

It's the rotating head icon, isn't it?

THE ROTATING HEAD COMPELS ME

This was the first week of the semester, and it wiped me out, though the classes look good so far. I do seem to have one student who will try to teach the class if I'm not careful. I must figure out how to manage him.

I didn't have any of those while I was TAing, but I remember one guy in the archaeology class I took in Wales who was a total dork and kept trying to correct the professor on the names of Caesars he'd left out, even though the professor had said he was only listing those who had a direct connection to Britain.

This is a guy with hair down to his waist in a nice, bishy pony tail. The amusing thing to me is that the course is essentially Grammar for Writers and Copy Editors, and so to have someone that enthusiastic about the course material is unusual.

I'm still there! Yay!

[identity profile] darksumomo.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 04:13 am (UTC)(link)
Well, I wasn't purged. Then again, I wasn't on your flist in the first place, even though you are on mine. :-P

[identity profile] darksumomo.livejournal.com 2007-01-13 04:35 am (UTC)(link)
I could imagine it being unusual. I suppose the usual reaction is more like "Ugh, mechanics. Why should I bother with such a mundane topic when I really want to express myself?" That said, I'd probably benefit from such a course. I could always learn more, even though I was twice a T.A. for Writing for Biologists while I was working on my Ph.D.

As for how to manage him, I'll see if I can think of anything. I teach college now, but I was trained as a K-12 science teacher and might be able to pull one of my classroom management tricks out of my magic bag for you.
