(no subject)

I am home, and now have a very needy kitty. She meows a lot and wants to be petted by me, to lick me, and tos cratch the hell out of me. In other words: completely normal behavior for a cat who's been by herself for a while. :D

I also have a lot of Christmas cards in the mail, so Thank You to all of you who sent them. XD And I have much anime to watch now, since Season 1 of Avatar, Ouran Host Club, and Mushishi all showed up, too. WHEN CAN I FIND THE TIME?

Off to buy food and, gosh, A BOOK ABOUT JAPAN so I can figure out what I want to see while I'm IN JAPAN. I have heated up the cat's heating pad thingy and am leaving a light and the TV on so she knows I'm coming back soon. She gets to watch a documetary about Alcatraz. I think she'll enjoy it.

The TimeOut city guides are good, though that won't help if you're not sure what cities you want to see.

Be warned that it is kind of difficult to get far into Kyushu (southern Japan) on a limited time. That's why I haven't gone there yet.

Are you planning on hitting Tokyo? I might be able to recommend aplace or two, though it's been years since I was there.

Whoops! I mean Kyoto. I only spent one day in Tokyo.

I *highly* recommend the Lonely Planet Japan book, especially if you want to get outside the major cities, or stay at inexpensive and interesting places within the cities. The maps alone are priceless, since Japan is a bitch to navigate, but it's got more information than any other guide I've encountered.

Want a personal tour guide? :-) I pack small.

Tpop might spring for you going, actually, since it's Worldcon and therefore business-related. Since it FINALLY sent me the contract for that thing, you know, from Indonesia, I'm assuming I will also get paid, so I'm going too!

Hm. We're sending another licensing delegation in March, probably, and I'm hoping to tag along on that, and figured that it would be mutually exclusive with Worldcon. But I didn't realize Worldcon was so late in the summer. I was thinking of going to Japan in the fall anyway, for, like, a real vacation, so maybe I can just go a little earlier.

*starts to plan*

Any word on the Christmas imps yet?

[identity profile] telophase.livejournal.com 2006-12-28 04:30 pm (UTC)(link)
They've been ordered; we're just in the waiting period now. :)

[identity profile] sangria2.livejournal.com 2006-12-28 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, thank you so much! I'm very excited, as if you couldn't tell. :)

:D I should probably order the decanting supplies, too, to make sure I have enough, otherwise you might explode, huh? XD

You know I spent five minutes trying to figure out what tos cratching meant. XD

Happy New Year when it comes!

I'd proofread more carefully, but that means you guys would get lazy.

You too!

Make sure you write about hostclub (unless you already did and I didn't read it yet because I had no internet yesterday.) I know I loved it and plan on buying it when it gets released here.
