The first issue of Mechademia, a new academic journal devoted to anime and manga, can now be ordered from the University of Minnesota Press.

Anyway, I jsut put in an order for my copy - twenty bucks, but that might include shipping, and as a Professional Manga Pundit, I can hardly not get it, right? Here. Have a dancing Cyberman.

IIRC, I think it's supposed to be a once-yearly thing, so I was vaguely expecting it to be out around now.

I think I originally thought it was going to be biannual but I see on the schedule now that it's an annual thing. :)
