(no subject)

I finally managed to sit on the cat today, which I've been afraid I was going to do. She's a dark-colored cat. I have a dark-colored office chair that she likes to sit on when I'm not in it. I wasn't paying attention.

Didn't hurt her; she yowled and started scrambling up and over the arm of the chair before I squished her, but she's all offended at me now. This is the cat that hasn't figured out that if I'm walking, especially when I'm carrying things, I can't see the ground directly in front of my feet.

She's also figured out how to open the kitchen cabinets, but just enough to get in, whereupon they swing shut after her and trap her, so I'm going to be looking into childproofing arrangements. You'd think she could just push them open to get out, but she can't figure out how to open the bathroom door when it's partly open, so I hold no hopes that she won't be trapped. I fear I do not own the Einstein of the cat world.

And if you're on my friendslist and looked at the last post (p7) under friendslock, the writer has a couple of questions in the comments that she's concerned about with the art, so go look at it and answer her, please. :)

If you have a cat, it will get sat/stepped on. Fortunately, they are cats, and are somehow evolutionarily equipped for most disasters.

Eh, she'll get over it...do you know how many times I've sat on/stepped on/thrown/kicked my cat? Most of the time, not intentionally. :D

Sounds just like my cat, im always saving him from the cabinets after he tries SO hard to get in there. We have to duct tape most of them shut, or he crawls in there searching for cans of tuna fish. He's so smart too though, that he figured out what the door knob was for, I walked in on him with his paws literally ON THE KNOB trying to open the damn door, I swear!

Never had a cat quite that smart, but once as a kid I went into the kitchen and opened an upper cabinet to get a glass out and found one of our cats curled up asleep on top of the stack of plates. :)
