FMA

Read Fullmetal Alchemist volume 9 in the tub last night.

Damn but the body count is getting high.

Can you send me # 8? I don't have it after all.

Sure. I'll pack it in with the other books, unless you want it quicker. :)

I know I'm totally late to the party, but damn I'm loving that series.

I am liking the manga more and more now that it's veered away from the anime, because I can't predict the characters and actions now. :D

I'd read that volume online ages ago, but as I read it a few days ago and the body count went up by one, I felt my jaw drop. I forgot that happened!

I love FMA. I love the series and the manga. And I really love the manga because now, as you said, you can't predict anything anymore. It's wonderful!

People die in that series. They die a-lot.

I am slowly buying the mangas but I actually haven't started to read it....so can I infer the manga is a bit different than the anime? Kinda like Rurouni Kenshin? That's exciting!
I'm buying the books and save them for my November trip to my country.

FMA is good....Good stuff ^_^

My famous words on FMA (no spoiler, honestly) - "Everyone dies!" That's not true, obviously, but it seemed that way...

Yup! The anime people took the story in the manga, ripped it apart, re-ordered events, and polished it up into a nice story that fit into the 50-odd episode allotment with a nice, satisfying ending. So in the first books characters are at times slightly different, events occur at different times, etc. And then starting about book 7-ish, the manga and the anime part ways considerably, and you get new characters and new bits of story and MANY old characters may or may not DIE TRAGICALLY. (I shall refrain from saying anything in particular about them. :)

Oh yeah yeah...I think I perfectly know which characters you refer to. It's good to know there is going to be more FMA through the manga (ust hoping it's not goin to drag on and on like Naruto).

Nonetheless, even if the anime is a bit "divorced" from the manga, I think the anime is awesome, and thus far is my favorite ever. The soundtrack is espectacular. Have you listened the anime in stereo hometheatre mode?...I mean, the sound effect, music, and voice (Even the dubbing) is really a nice piece of work. I believe this is an anime that was done with "love" as we say in Spanish, and I am glad they did it because the manga deserves it.
