It only gets worse from here...

I've definitely been doing manga way too long.

You see, today at work we had our monthly forum meeting, where the professional librarians get together and discuss issues and fill each other in on the status of projects n their department. We rotate doing the minutes, and this month it was my turn. I've been worried about this all weekend, first because I wasn't entirely sure I remembered the names of everybody and after four and a half months of work and going out to lunch with these people it would be embarassing to admit that I didn't remember their names, and secondly because every time previously that I've had to take minutes for some organization, it ended up horrid because I couldn't ever figure out what was important and what wasn't.

So I wake up this morning and realize that last night's dream was an anxiety dream about taking minutes. Only, I got the names all correct, and I took the notes just fine. It's that I was writing up the official version of the minutes and I was wittering away about what shoujo bubbles I needed to use to tone what part of the minutes.

(For the record, the minutes went fine - there was only one person whose name I didn't remember, and she helpfully sat right next to me and had her agenda printed out from email so I could lean over and read her name off it, and everyone pretty much wanted to get out of there, so there was very little excess verbiage.)

(For the manga-impaired, shoujo manga=girls' comics, well known for using patterns like bubbles in the background of the panels to communicate the emotional state of the characters.)
