Death Note anime news

via umadoshi, whose words I mostly cut-and-pasted directly here instead of bothering to think up ones of my own: Ishida Akira (Hakkai [Saiyuki], Kaworu [Eva], and Fisheye [Sailormoon SuperS]) is Light, L is being played by Paku Romi, Nana O. in NANA and Ed in FMA.

I don't know what to giggle over more--the fact that now in my head Gaara=Light or that Ishida Akira is also well-known for for BL drama roles. :D

Paku Romi ought to be interesting. Quirky, if nothing else. I wish there was an official source on this, though, so I knew it was a sure thing; every mention of it I've seen has been friend-of-a-friend or off a Chinese BBS.

And you know, I can't hear Ishida Akira as Light. I love his voice like whoa, but not Light. Ditto with Park Romi as L. Now, had they SWITCHED those two, YES.
