I gave up on the background after staring at the white for a while, and slapped a boring gradient on. I may actually take it off - without the gradient it looks like a cel.
That subject line is going to get you a lot of traffic, you realize. *paws*
Aside from the enjoyable tied-up-ness *ahem*, Jin's scowl is perfect. And Fuu's hand turned out wonderfully! Her sleeve doesn't look quite as pink as I'm used to seeing it, but that might just be my monitor. Or, you know, my bad eyes. *squints*
Despite the possession of an actual art history degree, I find I usually lack what I consider the constructive vocabulary to comment on people's art in a reasonably coherent manner. Which is all a long way of saying "I don't know nothin' 'bout drawin', but I know what I like." And what I like is, apparently, Jin. Tied up.
That said, Fuu's hand looks really especially nice.
Fuu cocked her head and looked at him through the corner of an eye.
"Um. Might not be safe. I'm not sure if those mushrooms have worn off yet."
"But I'm hungry."
"Well, have a couple of dango, then!" She was reluctant to sacrifice her snack, but he had saved her neck a time or two. And grudges over food are ugly. So she offered the stick up at arms-length.
The ache in his stomach was just about to overcome his innate sense of dignity when he asked, "What happened to the first one?"
"I thought it was a brilliant idea!" Fuu objected, mouth half full. "He said he was an artist! And that he'd feed us if you modelled for him. Easy!"
The glare Jin gave her was enough to charcoal roast the last of the dumplings she was waving erratically around.
"Fuu," he began patiently, completely belying his expression. "Shibari is only an art between consenting adults. Now untie us before he comes back!"
Behind him, Mugen nodded vigorously, but the rope knotted in his mouth and tied tight to his wrists behind his back, prevented him from saying anything.
"Oh, but I'm still hungryyyy..." Fuu moaned, stuffing the last two dumplings into her mouth before starting on the knots.

I think her sleeve is slightly browner than usual, but I actually sampled the colors from a screenshot I found online. :D

This is great coloring, and nice lines. I'd be hard-pressed to differentiate this from an actual animation cel.

Out of the whole, ummm..., 5? Samurai Champloo episodes I've seen, I decided I liked Jin the most. And I really, really like this picture :D

::laughs at Jin looking all Mr. Cwankypants over a little tying up::

Jin is starting to realize that people do this sort of thing specifically to make him cranky. XD

Jin glared. "Never mind. Keep it."
