I have no idea where the ropes and Fuu's hand came from. I just started drawing Jin, noticed he was glaring at something and Fuu's hand just sort of showed up, and this his posture and expression somehow suggested that he was glaring at her because he was tied up. Yeah, I don't know, either.

Please speculate at will about the above scenario in the comments.

And now I'm going to bed.

I'd say that he'd gotten caught raiding the food supply, but that's more Mugen than Jin.

I know it's supposed to be Fuu's hand because you've said it's Fuu's hand, and also because of the sleeve, but it looks like a guy's hand to me. I think it's because in manga, women's hands are usually drawn so dainty.

That's 'cause I used my hand as a model, and my hands are not dainty. :D (I suffer from an inability to use my hand as a model and draw long, elegant hands or big, knobbly guy's hands from them. Which is why I'm always irritated at people who say "Just use your own!" when I complain about not having hand models.)

I don't think anyone drawing the typical manga hand can use their own hand as a model. I'm lucky to have long hands, but they're still stubby by manga standards.

I can extrapolate and do the manga hands using my own as a reference, but I have other weird things I just can't get over so easily. Isn't everyone who draws (I'm not going to flatter myself by calling myself an artist) like that? Telling you to just use your own as a model isn't going to work, anymore than telling you that you could fly if you just wished hard enough.

Thank you. I've had a very long dry spell, other than Project Blue Rose, because everything I've tried to draw *other* than PBR has turned out looking like crap.

I'm marveling at Fuu's hand, though. I mean, the thumb is stuck on wrong, but other than that ... damn, that's one of the best hands I've ever done. I think sitting down with an issue of Vanity Fair and drawing hands from all the ads in really, really helped. I shall have to continue to do that sort of thing.
