I swear, if this ibuprophen doesn't work in the next fifteen minutes, the migraine drugs are comin' out.

The only problem with the Relpax is the sort-of vague hangover I get that translates to "ooohh... I could do this ... i don't really want to....i'll sit here and think about it a lot....." OTOH, it's either than or ICE PICK THROUGH TEMPLE so it's not really that much of a choice

Try not to mix it with caffeine. As in, don't drink tea/coffee/coke for a bit. Also, I don't think there's anything wrong with being partially comatose while doing library work, so take dem drugs. Coworkers will appreciate your renewed mellowness and inability to feel anger even when they poke you with a sharp stick.

In my case, I had to ride out a migraine unmedicated a couple of years ago. What I discovered was that the brain-dead phase was part of the migraine cycle. Even without the medication, I wound up in La-La land. For me, Relpax and all the other abortives just dump me directly from the pain phase to the stupid phase. Which is an improvement, still, but is an annoyance when you have lots of stupid days because of it.

I got a catch-22 there in that lack of caffeine triggers them for me, and I haven't had any since lunch. XD

At any rate, low blood sugar from not eating in too long also does it (I took lunch later that usual, and that sor tof kick-started this headache, which didn't get OW MY HEAD until just a little bit ago, from not having had dinner yet), and I've got french fries about to come out of the oven ANY MINUTE NOW so it *should* help. If there's no change after ibuprophen and food, then RELPAX TO THE RESCUE!

Funny, for me Excedrin works on my (mild) migraines, and it has caffeine.

I've been wondering if that was aprt of it. I'm also wondering if that's part of it *before* I get the pain, because today was an awful lot of "I should be uploading the staff assembly minutes to the webpage ... or I could reread the 17 comments on [Unknown site tag]'s Genji post over and over again."

I should start keeping a diary or something.

What is it today? Most of my coworkers were in some sort of pain today, and many of my friends. I've got a wisdom tooth coming in, myself.

Pain sweeps the state of Texas. Ouchie.

Hope you get better.

It's all just part of the migraine. I should dig out that handy dandy four page description of the migraine process my neurologist gave me. It's nifty.
