A challenge to you!

If you enjoy laughing your ass off looking at my pictures here, you should go to the site and do it yourself, and post the results. :D HEY I MADE A FOOL OF MYSELF IN PUBLIC, YOU CAN DAMN WELL DO IT, TOO!

OK. So today I'm clicking around the net and manage to find my way to the Perception Lab site, from the School of Psychology at the University of St. Andrew in Scotland. And they've got this funky Java applet that will allow you to upload a photo of yourself, then it'll morph it a bit in the direction of various ages, ethnicities, and artists. I immediately did so, and here you can see the results.

Their save function isn't working right now, so I used screenshots.

You probably recognize the photo from my Woman with Artichoke picture. It's taken with my phone, so when I blow the picture up to the required size in the applet... Image hosted by Photobucket.com
... it's way fuzzy. Which means you'll have to squint and back away from the monitor to get a reasonable idea of what the morphs look like, but you'll live. I don't have a better photo of myself anywhere I can find. I also had my head turned slightly to the side, resulting in everything being weirdly off about the head, sicne teh morphs assume you're facing directly into the camera. Baby. Note one problem: I failed to erase my glasses from my face, which means they're incorporate dinto the morph. Not too bad, except in the case of this one, since without my glasses I don't actually recognize myself. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Child. Eh. Doesn't really resemble me, from what I can remember of photos I've seen. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Teen. Definitely doesn't resemble me as a teen, but then again I had some serious '80s hair at the time. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Older adult. Doesn't resemble any of my female relatives that I can recall. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Afro-Caribbean. Not too bad. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
East Asian. Can't quite place what country it looks like I should be from, although I don't look Japanese. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
West Asian. Getting quite the cleft in my chin. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Masculinization. HOLY SHIT IT'S MY DAD. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Take 2 - I decided to slap a beard on in Photoshop, since Dad was bearded for a good portion of his life. The resemblance sort of fell away once it went on - I take this to mean that the upper half of my face takes more after my mother. I know my nose is my Dad's, and his dad's befre him, and his dad's before him. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Now we get into the fun stuff. Modigliani. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Botticelli. Not too bad. I could be a Botticelli. Ah, but which? Venus? Springtime? Allegory of Artichoke? Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Mucha. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Manga Cartoon (hey, that's *their* category name). AGH NO CREEPY GET IT OFF ME Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Apeman - 50% Chimp (again, their title). I like to think that my ancestors were particularly studious australopithecines. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Drunk. Uh, no. Just ... no. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
And back to normal, just to ground yourself. Image hosted by Photobucket.com
