More on ChatGPT

There's been an update to the code for ChatGPT, because last night I was using prompts like "Give me 3 comedy sketches from when Doomguy guest starred on The Muppet Show," which worked fine, but TODAY it says it can't because Doomguy is a fictional character. However, what happens if you ask it to create sketches from fictional episodes...?

Anyway, ChatGPT is back up again, and I've asked it for Muppet Show episodes starring Tom Hanks (who was never on it). You can see that it grabs from Hanks' oeuvre and uses those as the basis for Muppet Show sketches. And in this case I had to tell it to "create" and that the show was "fictional", otherwise it clammed up and said Hanks was never on The Muppet Show, so it couldn't tell me about any sketches. Obviously, the brains behind it are attempting to correct for people asking for stuff and ChatGPT making it up.

Please create 3 comedy sketches from a fictional episode of The Muppet Show that guest starred Tom Hanks.
Sure, here are three comedy sketches from a fictional episode of The Muppet Show that guest starred Tom Hanks:

"Cast Away with the Muppets": In this sketch, Tom Hanks is marooned on a deserted island with the Muppets. As they try to survive, hilarity ensues as they encounter all sorts of obstacles and challenges, including a volleyball named Wilson who is also a Muppet.

"Forrest Gump's Run-In with the Muppets": Tom Hanks reprises his role as Forrest Gump, but this time he encounters the Muppets on his cross-country run. The Muppets try to join Forrest on his run, but their wacky antics keep causing him to fall behind. In the end, Forrest learns a valuable lesson about teamwork and friendship.

"Toy Storytime with Kermit and Friends": Tom Hanks joins Kermit and the Muppets for a special storytime, where they read excerpts from the Toy Story books. However, as they read, the Muppets keep getting distracted by their own toys and playthings, causing chaos and hilarity to ensue. In the end, they all come together to learn a valuable lesson about the importance of imagination and play.

And yup, that "This is FICTIONAL" thing is new. I gave it the same type of prompt I was giving it last night with Doomguy and Shepard, and it told me this:

Please give me 3 comedy sketches from an episode of The Muppet Show that guest starred Indiana Jones.
I'm sorry, but there is no record of The Muppet Show ever featuring Indiana Jones as a guest star, as Indiana Jones is a character from the film franchise created by George Lucas and Steven Spielberg. However, if you would like, I can create three comedy sketches that could potentially feature a character similar to Indiana Jones as a guest star on The Muppet Show. Please let me know if you would like me to proceed with that.

Certainly! Here are three comedy sketches that could potentially feature a character similar to Indiana Jones as a guest star on The Muppet Show:

"Raiders of the Lost Ark with the Muppets": In this sketch, Indiana Jones teams up with the Muppets to search for the Ark of the Covenant. However, the Muppets' hijinks and bumbling nature cause all sorts of mishaps and setbacks. In the end, they find the ark, but not before accidentally setting off several booby traps.

"Indiana Jones and the Temple of Gonzo": In this sketch, Indiana Jones joins Gonzo on a quest to find a lost temple filled with treasure. However, as they explore the temple, they encounter all sorts of absurd obstacles and traps. Meanwhile, the other Muppets provide humorous commentary from the sidelines.

"Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Animal": In this sketch, Indiana Jones has to team up with Animal to recover a valuable artifact. However, Animal's wild and unpredictable behavior causes all sorts of chaos and destruction. In the end, they retrieve the artifact, but not before causing a lot of damage to the surrounding area.

Note the legalese around " a character similar to Indiana Jones"! That's also new!

But what happens with the time that Luke Skywalker canonically hosted The Muppet Show?

When Mark Hamill starred on The Muppet Show, they had a running gag that it was actually his cousin, Luke Skywalker, IIRC, so I tried that:

The Mark Hamill episode of The Muppet Show had a running gag that Luke Skywalker was his cousin and was starring on the show.
I apologize for my previous response. You are correct that there was an episode of The Muppet Show that featured Mark Hamill as a guest star, and the running gag throughout the episode was that Luke Skywalker was his cousin and was starring on the show. Here are three comedy sketches from that episode:

"The Muppets Strike Back": In this sketch, Luke Skywalker and the Muppets team up to fight against an evil empire that is threatening the galaxy. However, the Muppets keep getting distracted by their own shenanigans, causing all sorts of mishaps and setbacks. In the end, they manage to defeat the empire, but not before causing a lot of chaos along the way.

"Yoda's Wisdom for the Muppets": In this sketch, Luke Skywalker brings his mentor, Yoda, onto The Muppet Show to share his words of wisdom with the Muppets. However, Yoda's unconventional teaching methods, combined with the Muppets' antics, lead to a lot of confusion and hilarity. In the end, they all learn a valuable lesson about the importance of patience and perseverance.

"The Great Muppet Jedi Academy": In this sketch, Luke Skywalker tries to teach the Muppets how to use the force. However, the Muppets' lack of discipline and focus causes all sorts of problems, including accidentally levitating and dropping things. In the end, they all learn a valuable lesson about the importance of self-control and concentration.
None of those sketches exist, but they missed the legal disclaimer.

For the curious: Episode 417, when Luke Skywalker and the droids crash-land on the Muppet Show set and Luke eventually brings in his cousin Mark Hamill, who gets thrown off set when Kermit sees him sing and dance.
