Tokyopop Manga Online

As the November issue of Tokyopop's Manga Online (neé Takuhai) has gone live as of today, I shall make the official announcement:

An edited version of my two essays on visual flow in manga has been posted as Manga Online's How-To of the Month.

=====================

And a pimp for anyone who comes by: I am also seeking submissions of original manga short stories for an anthology I and some friends will be publishing ourselves. We're willing to work with you to an extent, and if you are an artist looking for a writer or a writer looking for an artist, we can hook you up! Information can be found at the PandaBuddha website.

[another edit] Just found this quote. Has nothing to do with manga, but I liked it anyway.
"Libraries are brothels for the mind, and librarians are the madams, greeting customers, understanding their strange tastes and needs, and pimping books."

WOO! I'm so pouncing on that.

Also, question: What's the absolute deadline for manga submissions for the anthology next year?

And will it be rated PG-13 etc? I think there was talk of an adult anthology at some point, but I don't remember if that was going to be a seperate publication or not.

Looking good! And thanks for the thank you.

Congratulations on successful essay!

Libraries are brothels for the mind

That's a great quote. And now I am feeling all nostalgic for Planescape, the CRPG that had a Brothel of Slating Intellectual Lusts. Talking to the prostitutes there was more fun than almost anything else in the game.

Congrats!

I was bummed, thinking I'd missed the PandaBuddha deadline. Does this mean I could still submit something...?

Cool! Go you!

So it's just up to January 1st to tell you that I want to do PandaBuddha? Or is it up to the 1st to have a finished story? XD;; Because if it's the former, I'm so in it ain't even funny (I swear, January is going to be dubbed "Comic Month"- I'm taking a course on comics and doing comics...it's like my dream come true!)
