More things we’ve seen

A flock of Methodist chickens

A friendly dog

Lots of dragonflies

A juvenile Cooper’s hawk

Various small birds that refused to sit still long enough to be IDed

We also heard nearby hungry cows at breakfast

Aha!

I'd never heard this phrase.

Mind you, what I know of Christianity is mainly England in the 1500-1700s [I did medieval and Early Modern history at uni]

plus being unwillingly dragged along to Baptist and then Anglican churches in Australia as a child/teen...

p.s. in Australia the Methodists merged with the Presbyterians to make the Uniting Church, which is the most women-friendly and LGBT-friendly of any of the Australian churches - they've ordained as ministers not only cis women, but gay women, and trans women.
