7th-9th feedings, May 6-8
7th and 8th feedings: as per normal. No real change in consistency or odor. But today, for the 9th on May 8, the white flour starter had developed some serious funk. Not sure how to characterize it—it’s not cheesy funk, but more like terrible foot funk. The whole wheat starter is also diverging from “warm mayonnaise,” but more subtly. It smells a bit more sour, but it hasn’t found a good-smelling sour yet.
