muahahahahaaaaaaaaa
To celebrate the completion of the draftline* of the Thing Wot I Am Writing, I went on a small spree of commissioning art, and so far I've got some awesome stuff for it. XD I've got comics-style portraits of the two main characters finished, full character designs in the process of being done, a nifty portrait that's in the sketch and color-establishment stage, and an environment design of one of the locations that I've just seen prelim sketches on. I AM EXCITE.
All things will be posted later, when I'm at a stage that talking publicly about it won't kill it dead. :) (I'm about 2/3 of the way through the draft I'm pulling out of the draftline WHEEEEEEE I HAVE NEVER WRITTEN THIS MUCH ON A SINGLE STORY BEFORE)

And, hahaha, the Thing has Horse Things in it, and after looking at your journal I might be making pleading eyes at you for info in a week or two, once I finish this draft.

No, I love talking about horses. And it looks like she has lippizans, which are very cool. I have mostly Iberians (Lusitanos and Andalusians), which are pretty similar.

And nice! My grand total experience with horses consists of two weeks of lessons at Girl Scout camp in the dead of Texas summer many years ago, which is mostly overshadowed in my memory by the misery of having to wear jeans and long-sleeve shirts in 100+°F temps. And the helmets that were usually the wrong size. And the horse on the climactic trail ride that took every opportunity to scratch himself against trees and brush, so branches were always catching hold of my helmet and choking me with the strap. (He was a sweet, placid horse otherwise: perfect for beginners.)

I started riding at about 3 years. Took a forced break for college and med school (my horse died before my senior year in high school), then started again during residency. I showed some when I was younger, but it was mostly just dinking around, and going around the fields.
Started dressage during residency, and have gotten more serious about it as the years have gone on. Probably because I'm understanding it more. :)
