Bizarre dream last night.
I dreamed that I was presented with an award - a small trophy-type thing - apparently as a co-award with this guy for a book on manga. The award was delivered to me when I was standing talking to someone I knew at a table outside somewhere. However, I couldn't figure out what the award was really for, because I hadn't actually collaborated with the guy. I had these online essays, sure, but the award was definitely for this book. So I went to the library where they were (I think) going to have the awards ceremony (no I don't know why I got the award itself before the ceremony) only to find that not only was the book itself in French, but the ceremony was in French and the program for it was in French, and all the people milling about the library before the ceremony spoke only French. I don't actually speak or read French, in case you hadn't figured that out by now. And a minimum of research showed that not only was I not a co-author on the book (although you'd think I'd remember that), I wasn't even mentioned in the index. I poked about the black-and-white plates in the middle of the book, which looked familiar, and then I realized that I'd helped the guy in the slide library I worked in a while back, pulling slides for him of images that he used to illustrate something or other about perspective (not manga images, they seemed to be French engravings of some sort). And I couldn't figure out why that was so important that it rated an award alongside the author of the book.
And then I woke up to discover my cat, who normally hates to sleep on the bed, was actually sitting next to me purring, so I scritched her for a while and forgot about the dream until just now.
